SBBA Hosts Annual Meeting Featuring UVM President Dr. Marlene Tromp

SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT — The South Burlington Business Association welcomed
members, business leaders, and community partners to its Annual Meeting on Wednesday
evening at OnLogic, featuring keynote remarks from Marlene Tromp, President of the University
of Vermont.

SBBA Chairman Roland Groeneveld opened the meeting by recognizing three longtime
outgoing board members for their dedicated service to the organization and the South Burlington business community: Adam Knudsen, Tim McKenzie, and John St. Hilaire. He also welcomed three incoming members to the SBBA Board of Directors: Vijay Desai, Charlotte Steverson, and Adam Winter.
Dr. Tromp provided an engaging update on initiatives and developments taking place at UVM,
including the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its role as an economic and community
partner throughout Vermont. She emphasized the importance of collaboration between higher
education and the business community and highlighted opportunities for partnerships that
support workforce development, innovation, and regional growth.
Attendees also participated in a thoughtful question-and-answer session discussing a range of
topics important to the business community, including workforce development, community
partnerships, student engagement, and the future of higher education in Vermont.

community leaders to discuss the future of our region,” said Groeneveld. “We are grateful to Dr.
Tromp for sharing her vision and insights and appreciate the continued engagement of our
members and partners.”
