The South Burlington Business Association introduces its Board of Directors: Larry Michaels, Chief Operating Officer for O’Brien Brothers Agency, Mike Keller, co-managing partner for Gallagher Flynn and Company, John Wilking, President Neville Companies, Tim McKenzie, General Manager South Burlington Realty, Judy Kearns, Owner and Publisher of The Other Paper, Heather Tremblay, Vice President Finard Properties, Jack Russell, Owner Century 21 Jack Associates, and Mike Simoneau, Owner of Geri Reilly Real Estate.
The SBBA is a non-profit membership organization which seeks to foster business in South Burlington by promoting responsible economic development and growth. To date the organization has over 60 member businesses which share the common goal of making South Burlington a thriving community for residents, businesses, and visitors alike. The group has held meetings about issues such as the impact of the airport on local business, the future outpatient expansion of The University Medical Center, and public safety in the city.
The next member meeting with be held on May 19th and will feature guest speaker, Lieutenant Governor Phil Scott. Any businesses interested in membership are invited to attend.
The SBBA has hired South Burlington resident, Julie Beatty as their Coordinator. Julie is currently in her second term as an elected member of the South Burlington School Board. She brings a background in Public Administration and accounting to the organization. She lives in town with her husband, Dennis, and her two teenage sons, Noah and Luke.
SBBA is a new organization (Jan, 2015) and encourages all South Burlington businesses to apply for membership. This is an opportunity to make contact with fellow businesses in town, while keeping abreast of local issues.
