South Burlington Business Association Growing

The SBBA is a non-profit membership organization that was formed in 2014 by a group of long time business owners who care deeply for the South Burlington Community. The purpose of the SBBA is to encourage economic development and vitality of the City of South Burlington while creating a vibrant and sustainable community for the benefit of residents, visitors and area businesses alike.

To date we have over 50 business members that share our vision for making South Burlington the best that it can be. We focus on issues related to businesses in our city including commerce, public safety, parking, signage, taxes, zoning, city maintenance, and education.

Last month the organization held a candidate forum with all four candidates for the city council. The City graciously hosted the group at City Hall. The event was moderated by WCAX political analyst Mike Smith. Business leaders around the community gathered to network and to listen to the candidates’ views on citywide issues.

The next member meeting will be on Tuesday March 17th at 7:30am at the South Burlington Police Department. The guest speaker will be Chief Trevor Whipple, who will talk about public safety within South Burlington as it relates to area businesses. He will provide the opportunity for local business people to learn about topics including retail theft, electronic security, and prevention.
